What is Dodge’s role as the Transportation Service Provider?
As your transportation service provider, Dodge Moving & Storage is contracted by the Government to oversee your military relocation of household goods from beginning to end. To accomplish this, we partner with DOD-approved agents in your area to handle packing, hauling, delivery, and any necessary third-party services. Depending on the capacity of local agents, a single agent may manage all aspects of your move, or different agents may handle each phase of the relocation process.
Are my dates confirmed once my shipment is accepted by a TSP?
Your dates are not confirmed until you receive confirmation from your transportation service provider.
What is a virtual pre-move survey and when will it take place?
A Virtual pre-move survey works the same way as a traditional in-home survey. It allows our agents to assess the volume and type of belongings you’re moving. Using your smartphone or tablet, our agents guide you through the process to evaluate the size and number of items that need to fit in a truck or container. This pre-move survey usually happens 10 to 3 business days before your scheduled load date.
What are pick up & delivery spread dates?
Your pack & load dates are determined at the time of the offer is accepted. It may be adjusted by a day or two once the pre-move survey has been completed if there is a difference in the offer vs estimated weights. The delivery date is known as your RDD or the date your shipment needs to deliver by. This date is determined by the driver or agent. This delivery date schedule will be by the initial RDD date.
What time will the packers/driver arrive on move dates?
Your move coordinator will provide a two-hour time window the afternoon before services are scheduled to begin. This allows you to plan accordingly and ensures that you have a clear understanding of when the moving team will arrive.
I’m ready to deliver, why did my shipment go to the destination agent?
Your TSP (transportation service provider) could not reach you in the allotted amount of time per the DOD rules so your shipment was placed in Storage-in-Transit.
Or your shipment was containerized and delivered to the destination agent and is waiting for the agent to submit an offer date for delivery.
How can I schedule delivery out of storage?
Scheduling a delivery from storage is simple! Just reach out to your TSP via email or phone. Once your preferred delivery date is received, we’ll coordinate delivery of your household goods. Remember, it’s crucial to schedule your delivery directly with (your TSP). Failing to do so may lead to delays in filing claims, completing your post-move survey, and potential miscommunication.
I won’t be at residence for packing, loading or delivery, can I assign releasing/receiving agent?
If you are unable to be at residence during pack, load or delivery of your household goods, please make sure to have a Releasing agent on file in DPS. To assign a Releasing or Receiving Agent, log into DPS and complete the Point of Contact Page. This allows you to designate the person authorized to release or receive your household goods. Once completed, email your move coordinator to confirm your authorization. Be sure to include the individual’s full name and contact information in the email, as we require this in writing.
Remember, the designated agent must be at least 18 years old and available between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
